How To Teach Efficiently?

The dictionary meaning of teaching is to impart knowledge or give instructions to others. it involves speaking out of some pieces of information by a person to others. The former is known as the teacher while the others are known as students. It apparently appears to be a simple task and profession. However, the truth is far from what is generally thought. A teacher knows how difficult his or her task actually is.

Teaching gets on their nerves many-a-times. If you are a teacher, you can understand this point very well. It happens many-a times that despite of your teaching the subject very nicely, your students do not appear to take interest or get involved in your class. Or, despite of your best efforts,. The end result in the exams comes out to be zero from the students. All such problems can be overcome if you follow some simple strategies in your classroom.

The secret to effective teaching is to prepare your lecture very well. You should be an expert of the subject you have to teach in the class. The second secret is to impart your knowledge to those whoa re actually interested in receiving it. The former is completely in your hands while the latter needs your intelligence and labor to get into your court. So, you need to work upon the latter strategy. This is possible when you know about your students very well.

You need to know about their likes and dislikes for any subject. Off course they need to learn every thing, they will learn it only when they are actually interested in knowing about it. So, try to understand your students’ mentality and psychology. When you enter a classroom, greet the students with a warm smile. Talk to them about themselves in positive light. This will make them interested in listening to you. While talking to them, slowly divert the topic to what you are going to teach them. You may do it by telling them a relevant story or just carrying out a group discussion. Make sure that all the students take part into it.

When you have successfully done what have been suggested above, you have accomplished half of your teaching task. Now, start with your actual lecture. You will find that the entire class is listening to you, thinking about what you are speaking. Complete involvement makes a huge difference as the students’ brain grasp the matter well and keeps it safe for a longer period of time. Eventually, they perform well in examinations as well.

Try to interact with your students as much as possible. Listen to their problems and solve them. Give them reasons to take you as parent-like figure in their lives. Such a  bonding will not only help you teaching subject matters effectively but also valuable lessons of life to your students. Here’s wishing you a happy teaching!
